Main duties and responsibilities
We are seeking an applicant to teach on our LLM Bar course and LLB programme with responsibility for Professional Ethics, Trial Advocacy, Family Law, and the LLB Module Criminal Litigation, Evidence and Advocacy modules. You will assist and support other Module Leaders on the LLB Programme, and lead a module yourself.
You will work co-operatively and supportively as part of the School's teaching team, including off-campus student outreach and other recruitment activities EG open days where required. You will work closely with the Associate Deans, Head of Department, and Programme Leaders in order to continue the development of the School’s teaching and learning initiatives and ensure the currency and innovative nature of the curriculum.
The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the ongoing development of the School’s growing research community and be able to go on to pursue a programme of research to a standard appropriate for consideration under the Research Excellence Framework (REF), including the ability to secure external funding opportunities.
You will contribute to the School’s academic and pastoral care of its students through acting as a Personal Tutor.
Skills and experience
You will have teaching experience at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level in Professional Ethics, Trial Advocacy, Family Law, and the LLB Module Criminal Litigation, Evidence and Advocacy modules. You will also have experience of designing or contributing to the design of engaging and intellectually stimulating modules which have professional or industry relevance. Ideally you would also be able to offer experience of teaching an additional foundation of legal knowledge subject, and may have practical, legal, or other professional experience.
You will possess the ability to use technology to enhance the quality and flexibility of delivery to students, and to promote the activities of the School’s students. You will have subject expertise in Professional Ethics, Trial Advocacy, Family Law, and the LLB Module Criminal Litigation, Evidence and Advocacy modules. Proficiency in English Language is critical, with good self-management and time management skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) and a Masters degree in Law or equivalent level professional qualification.
A PhD, research or professional experience, a teaching qualification and/or Fellowship of Advance HE would be advantageous.
