The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828 and is honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as Royal Patron.
UWTSD now teaches over 16,000 students across its six campuses in the UK; four in Wales and two in England. It has long-standing international educational partnerships in Europe, China, Malaysia, the USA and elsewhere.
Our aim is to transform education, and by doing so transform the lives of the individuals and the communities we serve. We are already recognised for providing an outstanding student experience:
Our success is due to the commitment, skill, knowledge, and ability of our people working together. We are now building on this strong culture and provision to become a leading provider of accessible higher education.
THE ROLE
The post holder’s work will be focused on the management of the HESA Graduate Outcomes survey and the associated data that informs institutional understanding of graduate employability. This includes responsibility for the operational delivery of the Graduate Outcomes survey at UWTSD, ensuring data accuracy, supporting response rate improvement through effective promotion of the survey, liaising with HESA’s contracted survey provider, and analysing and disseminating the results to inform strategic priorities.
In addition to Graduate Outcomes, the post holder will support the collection, analysis and use of other careers-related and employability data, including national data sources (e.g. Longitudinal Education Outcomes [LEO]), and internal feedback mechanisms relating to student engagement with careers services. They will play a key role in translating employability data into actionable insights that support enhancement activity across the University and contribute to key institutional measures, including performance in external frameworks (e.g. Medr Employability Measure and League Tables).
The post holder will focus on business intelligence, data processing (e.g. managing survey populations), response rate monitoring, data analysis, and data visualisation. This includes the development and maintenance of interactive dashboards using Power BI to support evidence-based decision-making, and to contribute to the work of the University’s data operational group. They will be key to ensuring awareness and understanding of employability data across the institution, working collaboratively with academic and professional support teams, and enabling data-informed actions to support and enhance graduate employability.
The post holder will also liaise with partners across the UWTSD Group and with external organisations (e.g. HESA / JISC, AGCAS, AdvanceHE), ensuring institutional requirements are met in full and that the Careers Service is effectively supported in its strategic use of data.
The primary location of this post will be Carmarthen or Swansea.
