Are you passionate about online teaching and committed to delivering a high-quality educational experience to students across the globe? St Mary’s University is seeking, knowledgeable, and flexible educators to join our growing team of Associate Lecturers Online to work on our MSc Psychology, MA Education, MBA and MSc Business and MSc Computer Sciences online suites. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to support diverse learners through asynchronous delivery, within a supportive and forward-thinking academic environment.

About the Role

As an Associate Lecturer Online, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and academically rigorous modules to students studying remotely through our fully asynchronous online programmes. Working closely with the Senior Lecturer Subject Lead Online, you will bring your subject expertise, strong communication skills, and commitment to student success to the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver online module content in alignment with curriculum objectives and university teaching standards.
  • Prepare and lead asynchronous learning experiences, including recorded lectures, online discussions, tutorials, and feedback sessions.
  • Support students through asynchronous communications
  • Mark and assess student work, providing clear, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Supervise student dissertations or projects where applicable, including regular check-ins and draft feedback.
  • Monitor student engagement and performance, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Attend virtual module team meetings and contribute to quality assurance processes, including exam boards if required.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and maintain up-to-date subject knowledge.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for enthusiastic and experienced educators with:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). For Psychology, this must be a BPS accredited qualification.
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education, particularly in an online asynchronous environment.
  • The ability to present complex ideas clearly and engagingly to diverse learners.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills, including familiarity with MS Office and online learning platforms.
  • A student-centred approach and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
  • Flexibility to work across varied time zones and adapt to a non-traditional teaching schedule.
