The focus of the role will be to embed sustainable procurement practices and ensure that suppliers implement Net Zero Carbon Tools and provide accurate carbon emissions data to help the University maximise and measure its positive impact throughout its buying and contracting activities.
The role holder will influence and build strong working relationships with members of relevant task and finish/steering groups that have been set up to plan and implement the necessary carbon reduction strategies and will proactively identify areas where Procurement can add value in terms of sustainable, carbon-reducing solutions in support of the University’s sustainability plan and strategic goals.
The Person
You will be a procurement professional with an in-depth understanding of sustainability and sustainable procurement practice which you will apply in a cross-functional business environment.
You will be able to work proactively, independently and as part of a team and be able to influence and build strong working relationships with members of relevant task and finish/steering groups that have been set up to plan and implement the necessary strategies.
Directorate/Function
Kingston University’s Corporate Procurement Unit (CPU) is part of Finance (FI&HR Directorate) and consists of a team of procurement professionals who strategically source goods and services to ensure the most efficient, sustainable and effective use of University funds.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 22.2 hours per week with a starting salary of £29,681 per annum (60% pro rata to £49,468 per annum).
