The Social Sciences Division is one of four academic Divisions in the University, comprising fifteen departments, faculties and schools. The Division represents one of the largest groupings of social scientists in the world and the University of Oxford was ranked as number one in the world for Social Sciences in 2022, 2019 and 2018 by the Times Higher Education.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Connected Communications Service (CCS) in the Social Sciences Division. The Connected Communications Service (CCS) is a unique shared service communications resource within the Social Sciences Division. We combine the deep understanding and expertise of an in-house team, fully integrated into the University’s unique culture, with the fresh perspective and strategic approach of an external communications agency.
The CCS is looking for a digital communications professional who is comfortable working to multiple deadlines and managing a busy workload. The successful candidate will display excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and have the ability to inspire the confidence of colleagues.
The post holder will understand digital communications, with experience working with and learning new content management systems as we move towards the deployment of a new University-wide CMS. They will also have an interest in and knowledge of social media and communications evaluation and reporting. The Digital Communications Assistant will work with the Digital Communications Manager, who leads the delivery of digital and social media strategies for the SSD and CCS client departments.
This role is hybrid or based in the divisional office, with the opportunity to work remotely for part of the week. This post is 0.6FTE and fixed term until 31/07/26, in the first instance.
