The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

You will be a member of the Oxford Mental Health Economics and Policy (OMHEP) research group, led by Associate Professor Apostolos Tsiachristas, with responsibility for the provision of research activities for a series of projects on mental health economics

About the Role

This full-time post is funded for 12 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. Flexible working arrangements could be discussed with the line manager in line with university policies, but it is expected a minimum of two days a week on site work for a full-time post

You will manage own research and administrative activities related to health economics, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues. You will contribute to wider project planning by identifying opportunities for health economics components in new or ongoing research projects and will contribute to the design of study protocols and economic evaluation plans, including outcome measures, costing strategies, and data collection tools.  

About You

You will have a degree in economics, epidemiology or a related field together with some relevant experience and will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within related fields. With experience of conducting health economic evaluation and using routinely collected/survey data you will have excellent communication skills and be able to write text that can be published.
