Currently located in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Experimental Psychology will be moving to the new, purpose-built Life and Mind Building (Home l The Life and Mind building (ox.ac.uk)) a multidisciplinary research and teaching facility due to open in August 2025.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organized Research Assistant to join us on a Wellcome Trust funded project with colleagues at University College London. The project aims to deliver a novel mechanistic understanding of anxiety and depression improvement and enhance our ability to maximize these benefits.

The post-holder will contribute to high-quality research activities supporting this project and promote open science and use transparent reporting and data handling practices according to the highest standards. Being responsible for the day-to-day administrative duties and the recruitment of young people as participants, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, and an understanding of anxiety problems in young people.

The post-holder will work closely with colleagues at the Department of Psychiatry in Oxford and at University College London. We can accommodate some hybrid working, with a minimum 4 days per week on site, depending on task demands and through agreement with your manager. The role involves regular travel to UCL for collaboration with the wider project team.

The post is full time and initially funded for 12 months and will require a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check due to regulated activity involving children.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills, experience with setting up and managing large databases with a good understanding of computers and software, and knowledge of statistics and experimental design. Flexibility to work some irregular hours to fit with participants’ availability and the ability to travel will be an advantage.
