The Disability and Neurodiversity (D&N) team is looking to recruit a full-time, permanent Student Disability and Neuroinclusion Practitioner. Working closely with the Student Disability and Neuroinclusion Senior Practitioner and other team members in D&N, the post holder will primarily be responsible for the advice, guidance, reasonable adjustments and support, on an individual or group basis, of disabled students and applicants.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality service for students with a wide range of diagnoses to support disabled students around all aspects of university life and to the development of inclusive practices across the University. The post holder will also work within the team to contribute to projects to develop the service or activities to meet the needs of students.

Knowledge of the needs of disabled students in a higher education setting, extensive practical working knowledge of DSAs and related processes, an excellent understanding of key legislative requirements and experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating training and workshops are all essential criteria for the successful candidate.

Expertise in mental health or qualifications meeting DfE requirements for conducting specialist tutoring or mentoring is desirable.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of developments within the HE sector and demonstrate resilience in a time of change. Under the guidance of the Student Disability and Neuroinclusion Senior Practitioner, the successful candidate will promote good practices across the institution and be able to work flexibly, sometimes outside of core hours and across the year, both on-campus and remotely.
