We are seeking a positive, effective and customer-focused Money Adviser for a challenging role within the Student Wellbeing Team in the Student Experience Directorate.
0.6 FTE , 22.2 hours per week
The Money Advice Team offers advice and guidance on Government funding such as student loans and grants. In addition, the Team provides advice on fees, debts, budgeting, University bursaries, hardship funds and Learning Support Funds from the NHS.
The role is student-facing and delivered on campus to meet with students on an appointment or drop-in basis. There may be occasional opportunities to work from home, but this will depend on business need. The role will also include representing the service at University recruitment events - these may be held in the evening or on weekends.
Our Money Advisers are responsible for the effective responses to enquiries from students, University staff and the wider community either in person, virtually, on the phone or by e-mail.
The successful candidate should have recent experience of providing advice and guidance to students, together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A positive outlook on customer focus, flexibility and organisational skills is essential, along with a willingness to provide students with an excellent experience.
Although the base location is Francis Close Hall, the successful candidate will sometimes be required to work at the other three University sites. This will be planned according to service needs.
Working hours of 22.2 per week, will be spread across four days with Tuesday or Thursday as a non-working day.
Start time between 9:15-9:45 each day.
