We’re seeking a confident and proactive Senior Facilities Support Assistant to join the University of Oxford’s Facilities Management team at the new Schwarzman Building — a state-of-the-art centre for learning, research, and public engagement.

Location: Schwarzman Centre, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter
Salary: £27,838 – £31,459 per annum, plus shift allowance
Contract: Full-time (36.5 hours/week), Permanent, Shift work

About the Role

This is a hands-on role with variety and impact. As Senior Facilities Support Assistant, you'll coordinate daily operations at the Schwarzman Building — an interdisciplinary hub hosting lectures, collaborative research, exhibitions, and events.

You’ll work as part of a new team covering shifts between 7:00am and 10:30pm, seven days a week, on a rotating schedule. We offer fair and flexible scheduling, plus a shift allowance.

Duties include:

  • Supervising facilities staff
  • Managing setups for lectures and events
  • Ensuring safety and operational compliance
  • Delivering excellent customer service

  • Good organisational and team support abilities
  • Basic IT proficiency and willingness to learn new systems
  • A proactive mindset, practical DIY skills, and attention to detail
  • Reliability, adaptability, and discretion
