The Disability and Neuroinclusion (D&N) team is looking for a full-time, permanent Specialist Disability Tutor/Mentor-Adviser.
We are looking for a highly experienced specialist to ensure disabled students receive outstanding support through individually tailored tutoring or mentoring.
Additionally, a core aspect of this post is to act as an adviser to students and applicants and the wider University community and to work on a range of projects to improve student experience. Working as part of a dedicated and holistically minded team, such activities will include developing and delivering staff training and development across the institution, as well as guidance and study resources.
As the tutor/mentor aspect of the role is DSA-funded, it is essential that candidates meet the DfE qualification and professional body membership requirements to undertake the role of a Specialist Tutor or Specialist Mentor for disabled students (these are listed on pages 8-17 of:

Knowledge of the needs of, and experience of supporting, disabled students in a Higher Education setting is essential, as is the ability to work independently and as a team member.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of developments within the HE sector and demonstrate resilience in a time of change. Under the guidance of the Head of Disability and Neuroinclusion Operations, and the team’s Senior Practitioners, the successful candidate will promote good practices across the institution and be able to work flexibly, sometimes outside of core hours, and across the year.
