The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Centre Manager to oversee the operation of the Centre for Advanced Social Sciences Methods (CASSM).
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious research and teaching Centre based within DPIR.
You will support the Centre Director and Faculty and work alongside the other Professional Services staff in DPIR, as well as work with staff and postgraduate students across multiple departments and disciplines in Oxford in Politics and International Relations, Law, Economics, Sociology, the Oxford Internet Institute, and Social Policy and Intervention, and in partnership with Nuffield College.
The overarching objective of the postholder is to support the Director in the overall responsibility for leadership of the Centre including day-to-day operational management of the Centre. Areas of responsibility include managing the administration of the Centre, ensuring a highly effective service is delivered across general administration, finance, personnel, estates and IT to all its members, as well as supervising all Centre administrative and support staff. The post holder would also manage and contribute to the preparation of project and financial reporting to the Management Committee, SRF, as well as other funders and key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience, with experience of administration in a higher education or similar setting. You will have proven project management skills and a track record of timely and successful delivery of complex projects. You will also have excellent financial management skills alongside a proven ability to work well under pressure and have excellent organisational skills.
