Student Support and Safeguarding is seeking to appoint a Student Disability Support Co-ordinator to co-ordinate support for our students with a disability, long-term health or mental-health condition, or who are neurodiverse, ensuring all students have the opportunity to access and benefit from high-quality, student-centred services.

About us

The department comprises of: Therapeutic Services and Mental Health; Disability Service; Student Support Advice, Student Money Advice and Wellbeing services.

You will contribute to the wider development of Student Support and Safeguarding through working closely with these other teams, as well as staff from across the University and external stakeholders.

About you

You will have experience of working in a service-orientated environment, with strong administration, organisation and interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a small team to provide the best possible student experience.

In the role you will:

  • work with external Non-Medical Help (NMH) suppliers, maintaining clear and open lines of communication to ensure the provision of a consistently high-quality services to our students, including acting as the first line of contact queries or concerns received from students and support workers.
  • co-deliver our ‘Beginning at Bath’ induction event for new students who identify as autistic.
  • assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of student volunteers for our ‘Campus Buddy’ social mentoring scheme, as well as other programmes and initiatives run by the Disability Service.
  • maintain and develop accurate and up-to-date student records, processes and procedures to ensure effective co-ordination of support work activities.
  • have a commitment to inclusivity and experience of working in a service-orientated environment.
  • bring strong administration, organisation and interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a small team to provide the best possible experience for our students.

You will also be eager to take responsibility for delivering our group interventions and support networks for the benefit of our disabled students.

Further information

This post is being offered on a part-time basis, working 21.9 hours per week (0.6 FTE). The working pattern can be discussed further at interview, but preference is for hours to be spread across the working week. 

A basic DBS check will be required for this role.
