This post is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Life Sciences Technician to join an existing technical team working within the School of Health and Life Sciences. The successful applicant will join a team supporting faculty staff and students involved in existing and new life sciences programmes.
Duties include technical support for all laboratory teaching and research including design and optimisation and preparation of practical laboratory sessions, clean up, maintenance, maintaining inventories and laboratory or technical storage areas. You will also take care of other duties as assigned by the line manager. Working in all areas will require maintaining high standards of health and safety management.

We are keen to receive applications from candidates with a number of years of relevant experience in a similar role who are highly motivated and able to use their own initiative and demonstrate the team ethic of ‘Excellence in Practice’.
Previous experience in life-sciences related employment such as a technical support or research role is essential. The minimum qualifications include BTEC, HND, NVQ (level 3 or above) or equivalent with a minimum of GSCE maths and English language or equivalent.
The role requires a strong understanding of workplace health & safety, excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude to assisting staff and students with support requirements.
