We are seeking a full-time/ part-time CHERI Programme Manager to support the lead academic staff, working closely with the research team and key professional support staff in the department and the wider university (finance, communications, HR, etc.).

CHERI is the result of a highly successful 15-year collaboration between the University of Cambridge, SRI International, and more recently Arm, to develop new architectural security primitives. The CHERI protection model embodied in Arm's  prototype Morello processor and the forthcoming CHERI for RISC-V standard, has the potential to transform computer security through strong software vulnerability motivation. This post will support and enable the success of this influential research programme with over 70 academic and industrial partners in the UKRI DSbD research programme centred on CHERI. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead academics involved in the programme, contributing to its strategic direction and operational execution. A key aspect of the role will be effective communication and coordination with lead stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all activities and maintaining strong collaborative relationships.

As a Programme Manager, the candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing all phases of the programme to meet defined objectives and timelines. This includes managing the day-to-day operations, identifying and responding to emerging priorities, proactively mitigating risks, and ensuring that activities are delivered on time and within budget. The role will also entail overseeing monitoring and reporting systems to track progress and measure success.

To excel in this position, the candidate should be educated to degree level or possess equivalent professional experience. They will bring a track record of administrative or project management experience, ideally gained in a similar environment. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, with the ability to write comprehensive reports and convey complex information in an accessible manner. Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and managing large-scale, multi-million-pound projects is also required.
