The role

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a veterinary degree and PhD for a full-time post in production animal medicine. The successful applicant will join a team of fellow professionals within Veterinary Clinical Sciences, at the School of Veterinary Medicine, committed to providing excellence in teaching and research for the benefit of a new generation of vets.

In the role you will:

  • Develop and contribute to high quality research in veterinary sciences or education, working collaboratively across the Discipline to increase research outputs.
  • Use your skills to support theoretical and practical teaching within the BVMSci programme, particularly in the area of production animal species.  
  • Support practical assessment across all years of the programme and contribute to academic administrative duties.

  • A thorough understanding of basic and applied veterinary sciences.
  • A passion for veterinary sciences and a strong commitment to delivering excellent teaching.
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to work flexibly and creatively in different contexts are essential, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Experience of teaching in an educational or professional setting.

Please note that these roles will be offered at either Lecturer B, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level depending on your experience (see job profile below for further details). The salary range for a Lecturer B starts at £47,389, Senior Lecturer starts at £58,225 and Associate Professor starts at £71,566.
