Job description:
Are you a proactive individual looking for a career in fundraising? Would you like to use your excellent customer service skills to help raise money for exciting projects at a leading university?
As part of the Campaigns and Alumni Relations (CAR) department, you’ll help the University of Sheffield raise money for ambitious projects aimed at addressing some of society’s most difficult challenges. Generous donors to the University are driving social mobility through scholarships and hardship funding, supporting research into devastating diseases and helping tackle issues like climate change and food insecurity.
In this interesting and varied role, you’ll support the department’s work across all fundraising areas. You’ll provide a friendly and efficient first point of contact for donors, and assist the department with the wide range of fundraising we carry out; including legacies, mass fundraising, community fundraising and major gifts. You’ll support face-to-face meetings and events with donors, to digital and print communications, you’ll provide support to ensure the smooth planning and execution of multiple internal and external activities.
You’ll be part of a small and highly motivated team. We require someone who is flexible. Accuracy, attention to detail and excellent relationship building, in addition to communication and customer service skills are all essential to the role. This post will provide a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to gain experience in a broad range of activities within a busy, customer-facing team.
There’s never been a better time to join us in this varied role. We have ambitious targets over the next few years through our Forged in Sheffield campaign (www.sheffield.ac.uk/forged). We need the right people to help us meet them.
