About You

A successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT Service Management principles and practices. You should have a proven track record with the ITIL framework and designing and implementing service architectures. Your analytical skills are exceptional, allowing you to translate complex business requirements into efficient and scalable IT services.

We are looking for a strategic thinker, who has a keen eye for detail. You should be capable of articulating ideas clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels. Collaboration is key in this role, so you should be adept at working within cross-functional teams and fostering positive relationships.

You should have a proactive attitude, demonstrating initiative and a desire to drive continuous improvement.

About the Department 

With the growing need to operate in an increasingly agile, digital-first environment, we need to be able to quickly assess risk and seize opportunity. This means, for the University, we need to be able to leverage digital capabilities to drive engagement, efficiency and capability across the institution.  The Information and Digital Group (IDG) is to be the trusted partner delivering innovative and effective digital services and solutions. IDG has four core missions:

Digital first culture – by developing a strong digital first culture, the University will stay ahead in today’s ever-evolving world.
Innovative digital library - we will revolutionise the academic experience by providing a dynamic and cutting-edge digital library that empowers students, staff, and researchers with the latest technologies and resources.
Amplify and accelerate data innovation - our cutting-edge data analytics capabilities will revolutionise the way we approach education.
Perfecting the digital twin - digital twin technology will facilitate remote learning and collaboration, allowing researchers from around the world to connect and work together on projects, revolutionising the way students learn and gain practical experience and transforming our operation model that will enable an innovative and immersive learning experience for all.

As part of IDG, I&O is responsible for ensuring the delivery of reliable, performant, and efficient technology and services to underpin the University’s. This includes the development and maintenance of IT systems, networks and hardware ensuring they are performant to agreed SLAs and delivering high availability.

I&O also develops and implements IT infrastructure and operations strategies for the University, aligning them with objectives and industry best practices.  Overseeing the University’s IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient and secure operations, while managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to meet agreed-upon agreements.
