We are offering you the opportunity to become part of our Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing team. Our team of dedicated health and safety and occupational health professionals are committed to supporting the University’s core aims through our People Supporting Strategy.
Duties of the Role
As a member of the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, you will support the University in the implementation of its Health and Safety Policy by providing competent health and safety advice and assistance, in accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and University requirements.
You will be responsible for providing advice and support on health and safety arrangements across the University. You will also monitor safety compliance, thereby helping to provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of health and safety management systems.
You will work closely with other members of the Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, as well as Fire Safety and other Health and Safety professionals to ensure a consistent and co-ordinated approach to the management of health and safety.
Skills and qualifications required
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety professional, preferably with experience of working across a range of risk areas in a medium to large-scale, complex organisation. You should also have a Degree, Diploma or NVQ/SVQ level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). You should be a Chartered Member of IOSH, or a Certified Member willing to work towards this.
