About the role:

The post holder will play a key role within the University’s Legal Services team, providing expert legal support through the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide range of contracts that underpin the University’s academic, research, commercial, and strategic initiatives. Acting as a lead contact for contracts, you will offer high-quality legal advice, manage complex caseloads, and ensure effective risk management while aligning with institutional objectives. 

The role also involves developing standard contract templates, delivering internal training, staying abreast of and advising in connection with relevant legal developments, and line management responsibilities, all while fostering strong relationships across the University and with external stakeholders.

About you:

We’re seeking an experienced legal or contracts professional with a strong background in drafting and negotiating complex contracts. 

You’ll bring sound legal judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a varied caseload with confidence and independence. You’ll be adept at providing clear, practical advice and building effective relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. 

For this role you will require an undergraduate degree in Law or equivalent significant relevant professional experience.
