Are you a passionate chemist eager to make a global impact through innovative research and teaching? We are excited to invite applications for an Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor position in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol, proudly rated #1 in the UK for chemistry research.
We seek applicants who are developing international leadership in their research field, with strong publication records. For Associate Professor appointment we would expect evidence of independent grant funding success and we would expect to be supporting you for Professorial promotion in the near future. We especially invite applicants with Fellowships or expertise in:
- Engineering biology
- Synthetic biology
- Chemical biology
- Biophysics or biophysical tools
- Biocatalysis
We will offer positions at Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor contingent upon skills, qualifications, and experience.
What will you be doing?
- Deliver an ambitious, internationally leading research portfolio.
- Develop portfolios of funding to resource your research programme.
- Collaborate positively and supportively with colleagues across the University and externally.
- Play a key role in developing and delivering our education programme at undergraduate and postgraduate taught levels.
- Contribute to our postgraduate research training programmes as appropriate
You should apply if
- Relevant PhD degree (or professional equivalent) and postdoctoral research experience
- Undertaking and building internationally competitive research programs (a clear track to international leadership is required for Associate Professor appointment)
- Experience in developing funding applications to resource your research programs (evidence of attracting substantial funding is required for Associate Professor appointment).
- Significant publications in high-impact academic journals or books
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching at university level at undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
- Initiative and creativity in problem-solving
- Contribution to broader organisational and management processes.
