Queen’s Sport is part of the Student and Campus Experience Directorate which is dedicated to enhancing, enriching and exceeding the student experience at Queen's University. Queen's Sport's central role is to deliver an exceptional experience to our students, staff and wider community across a total of five indoor and outdoor sport facilities.

Our staff are key to the success of delivering a world class service and experience to all our customers. Therefore we are looking to recruit a committed and motivated person who will support and deliver not only a world class experience to all customers, but thrive to providing a welcoming, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly service.

The post holder will be required to work as part of the Customer Services team within a sports complex providing a courteous, efficient and effective service to students and users at the reception desk and by telephone. This post involves working as part of a regular shift covering the relevant building opening hours (Queen’s Physical Education Centre). Where required to work a shift basis over 7 days, shift allowance of 18% will be paid.

About the person:

Queen’s Sport is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Receptionist. This posts is an exciting opportunity to join the wider Operational Team at Queen’s Sport in delivering a world class service to our students, members and the wider community with a focus on improving the health and wellbeing of all users.

The successful candidate will need to have secondary School education (e.g. 5 GCSE level or NVQ 2 Administration or equivalent), relevant work experience in a high volume front of house environment, knowledge of the relevant systems and procedures including H&S requirements plus a wider appreciation of the relevant area of work, IT literacy and basic familiarity with computer packages e.g. Microsoft Office.

Our current staff profile in Queen’s Sport shows an under-representation of Protestants and so we particularly welcome applications to this role from the Protestant community.
