We are looking to appoint either an Assistant Professor (Research Focussed) or Lead Engineer. Please see the two separate Job Descriptions (available on the university's website, accessed by the 'Apply' button).
We are working on innovative electrical machines that are instrumental in the decarbonisation of transport, and you will be critical to that success. The primary challenges are associated with manufacturing processes, cost reduction and applications engineering of electric machines and drives.
Flexible Working
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full-time.
Background Checks
This role will require a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check (BPSS) (National security vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK) and this will include undertaking a basic DBS check. This will need to be completed before any work can commence.
Please note that due to the nature of the activities within this role, we will not be able to consider individuals from any of the listed ITAR restricted countries.
About You
An engineer with a pragmatic approach to mechanical and production engineering challenges in the manufacturing of electrical machines. Their background might include skills and know-how in metal forming, sheet metal stamping, insulation system design, automation and numerical control of complex machinery.
