Job description:
The University of Bedfordshire is an ambitious, dynamic institution with over 24,000 students, with a mission to transform lives and communities for the better. Technology has an important role to play, and the University ICT department is a great place to work and be part of a friendly, focused, forward-looking team in an environment where the technical professional is valued and can flourish.
The Backup and Storage Infrastructure administrator will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and administration of the University’s backup and storage solutions. This includes managing SAN storage, virtualized environments, and a wide array of enterprise-level technologies. This role will be central to ensuring the secure, efficient, and reliable delivery of data center services and also includes assisting with the support of Linux operating systems, F5 Big-IP load balancing, Cisco UCS and VMwarevSphere version 8 systems.
This position will also play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure projects that support the University’s strategic IT goals. This includes working closely with project managers and stakeholders across departments to evaluate and implement new technologies, monitor performance, and ensure the alignment of systems with business needs. Your responsibilities will also involve producing and maintaining accurate technical documentation, system configuration records, and compliance reports. You will help uphold security standards and ensure all systems meet the necessary patching, backup, monitoring, and access control requirements in line with ITIL best practices.
This position requires an individual who is a strong team player with the ability to complete tickets quickly within published service levels (SLA). You must have the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively in a large HE environment.
Interviews will be held on the 22/09/25
We kindly request that all applicants refrain from canvassing during the shortlisting process.
