CREST Content Producer
The Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST) seeks a content producer to help translate academic research into high-impact resources for UK police forces. Commissioned by the ESRC, CREST is funded by the UK’s Home Office to identify and produce social science that enhances their understanding of security threats and capacity to counter them.
This nine month fixed-term role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to important work on police culture. You will work closely with academics and police practitioners to develop practical, accessible outputs such as toolkits, guidance documents, and presentation materials that support cultural awareness across police forces.
Based in CREST at Lancaster University, and working with Rebecca Stevens and Professor Stacey Conchie, this is a unique role that combines translational activities with research review. You will support workshops, evidence review, and translation of knowledge into formats that are clear, engaging, and ready for use.
You should be self-motivated with excellent writing skills and a strong ability to present ideas clearly and accessibly. You should have experience in translating complex or academic material into outputs for non-academic audiences. A background in psychology, organisational behaviour, or a related field would be helpful, though not essential. More important is your ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and create materials that are relevant and actionable.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be addressed to Rebecca Stevens, CREST’s Director of Communications (email: b.stevens@lancaster.ac.uk).
