An exciting opportunity has risen for a part-time Senior HR Assistant to work alongside a small HR Team based at School of Life Sciences, Gibbet Hill Campus at the University of Warwick.
The role reports to the HR Business Partner and works alongside the two existing part-time Senior HR Assistants and a full-time HR Coordinator, undertaking a full range of HR duties with an emphasis on recruitment across the week.
Providing excellent customer service, you will act as a first point of contact in responding to and addressing a wide range of staff queries appropriate and relevant information in a professional and timely manner from the HR email inbox and in person, determining if and when these need escalation.

About You
The ideal person should be educated to ‘A’ level standard with GCSE English and Maths or equivalent and hold a minimum of a Certificate in Personnel Practice or other relevant HR qualification or have experience of working in a HR role to this level. They should also have a commitment to working towards CPD and/or attaining a CIPD qualification.
Previous experience of working in a busy HR role undertaking end to end recruitment is essential, as is an ability to track and monitor progress of work as this role has a focus on recruitment involving fixed term contracts.
The postholder will need to provide general advice on associated immigration requirements and visas and undertake right to work checks (training for this can be provided).
Having knowledge of HR best practice and employment law.
A flexible professional approach and previous experience and/or an ability to work as part of a team is essential.
Having excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build relationships and keep other parties informed.
Able to apply tact and diplomacy and deal with sensitive and confidential issues.
Being able to use your initiative and interpret information to make decisions.
Able to work to deadlines and independently organise, prioritise and plan your workload with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent IT skills in email correspondence, word processing and completion of forms. An ability to use or learn different HR systems and applications.
