About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible to carry out a project in the field of Cardio-Immunology using in vivo and in vitro techniques, including flow cytometry and imaging. She/he will be expected to collaborate with other members of the lab and regularly present at lab meetings. In addition, she/he will contribute to routine jobs such as monitoring reagent levels, hood and incubator cleaning etc.
About You
We are seeking a junior postdoctoral candidate, ideally holding a PhD in Immunology or Inflammation biology. Experience of in vivo work, flow cytometry and imaging will be highly desirable. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic person, eager to learn and with ambitions for a successful scientific career.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Centre of Biochemical pharmacology includes multidisciplinary teams composed of basic scientists and clinicians, with broad research interests covering the mechanisms of inflammation and resolution, tolerance and innate & adaptive immunity. Our scientific research spans cellular and molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, antibody engineering, chemistry and structure-function relationships, as well as bioinformatics.
The Centre is part of the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD), QMUL, which is world-renowned for conducting innovative, world-leading research in the fields of cardiovascular, endocrine and inflammation science.
The fundamental mission of the FMD is to ensure that the best possible clinical service is underpinned by the very latest development in scientific and clinical teaching, training and research.
