King’s College London is seeking to appoint an independent co-opted member to its Finance Committee, a key governance body responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the university. This is a significant opportunity to contribute to the strategic financial leadership of one of the world’s leading universities.
The Finance Committee, plays a central role in shaping financial policy, overseeing the management of assets and revenues, and supporting long-term planning and investment decisions. It meets three times a year, with additional joint sessions alongside the Estates Committee, and is supported by the Investment Sub-Committee.
The successful candidate will bring senior-level experience in finance or banking (particularly debt financing) gained in organisations of comparable scale and complexity. Candidates will bring a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret and interrogate complex financial information. Familiarity with charity finance and regulatory frameworks would be beneficial.
Candidates should demonstrate a genuine empathy for King’s mission and values, and a commitment to contributing constructively to the university’s governance. Prior experience of committee service is not essential.
Joining the Finance Committee offers a rewarding opportunity to influence the financial stewardship of a globally respected university, contribute to its strategic direction, and support its mission to make a positive impact in the world.
