Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

The Technical Team in the School of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences supports a wide and diverse range of subjects including Biosciences, Pharmacy, Allied Health Professions, Sports Science, Psychology, Geography, Environment and Planning. Technical staff are organized into small specialist teams, who work together to provide support services for both research and teaching.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be part of a team responsible for the general housekeeping of the Schools laboratories and other facilities to include cleaning benches, equipment/resources, glassware and laundry. Maintaining adequate levels of consumable items. Assisting with goods deliveries to the School and providing cover for the Stores.

Skills and experience required

You will have practical experience of general cleaning duties in a laboratory environment. An ability to deal with conflicting priorities and work under pressure is essential. You will have good communication skills, you will be both reliable, flexible and adaptable to team requirements.  You will be able to act as part of a team but also to work unsupervised.

You will have a methodical approach with attention to detail, as well as a basic understanding of laboratory health and safety.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C/4, or above, (or equivalent qualifications), including Maths, English and Science
