The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies invites applications for the post of Undergraduate Programmes Administrator, a key role in the administrative operations of the Faculty.

The role holder is responsible for the efficient coordination of the Undergraduate Tripos, working closely with academics and other Professional Service Staff both in and outside of the Faculty.

The role holder provides administrative coordination for Undergraduate matters, including inductions, examinations, and admissions. The UGPA coordinates the creation of the handbook and online Prospectus, answers day-to-day enquiries from students and staff, facilitates disability support for students, and provides support with outreach and year abroad administration.

The role-holder also provides administrative support to the Faculty including servicing Department and Faculty meetings, preparing agendas, distributing papers and taking minutes.

Applicants will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, very good IT skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work in a team environment.  Applicants will be able to work independently to tight deadlines, be willing to learn new skills and will be able to use their initiative and judgment.  Applicants must be able to prioritise and work well under pressure.  Applicants will be expected to liaise with all stakeholders with tact and diplomacy, observing the need for confidentiality where appropriate.

Applicants should be educated to /HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience. They must have good knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, web editing, and use of email and internet.

Experience of working in a busy office environment, preferably within Higher Education is desirable.
