Personal Trainer Apprentice (Level 3)

Full-time, 5 days per week (including 1 day allocated for apprenticeship training), with no weekend working required.

The Students’ Union is committed to enhancing the student experience by supporting physical wellbeing, mental health, and community engagement. The Personal Trainer Apprentice will support the delivery of health, fitness, and wellbeing services to students and staff at the University. This exciting apprenticeship role combines on-the-job training with study toward the Level 3 Personal Trainer Apprenticeship Standard, providing the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst contributing to the daily running of the University’s health and fitness provision.

Key duties will include:

• Delivering excellent customer service within the Students’ Union gym and facilities.
• Conducting fitness consultations, health assessments, and inductions.
• Designing and adapting safe and effective personalised exercise programmes.
• Delivering one-to-one and small group training sessions.
• Supporting wellbeing events, campaigns, and promotional activities.
• Maintaining safe and inclusive fitness spaces, equipment, and accurate client records.
