About the role
We are seeking to recruit a Digital Learning Officer in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to support staff and students in their use of digital technologies for learning, teaching and assessment.
The postholder will play a key role in supporting digital learning innovation, developing online resources, and maintaining core systems that underpin our teaching and student experience. They will work closely with academic and professional colleagues to facilitate digital initiatives, develop online content on our Virtual Learning Environment (QMplus), analyse data from learning systems, and explore new technologies to continuously enhance digital learning across the faculty.
This is a hybrid role, with opportunities to work at Queen Mary’s Mile End Campus and remotely.
About You
This role would suit someone with experience in technology-enhanced learning and digital education support. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of virtual learning environments (Moodle desirable), experience of using learning technologies such as lecture capture, media streaming, and web conferencing, and the ability to support staff and students effectively.
You will be proactive, adaptable, and confident in providing high-quality advice and training, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. A commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and supporting the digital student experience is essential.
About the Faculty
The Faculty of Science and Engineering comprises of five Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the faculty. The faculty has a wide range of key interactions with partner organisations, including with overseas partners, other Government departments, research and education networks, funders and regulators. The role sits within the Professional Services job family, and the role holder is expected to be an active part of the University’s support staff family, working with academic colleagues across a wide range of responsibilities to help deliver its academic mission.
