About the Role

The School of EECS at Queen Mary University of London seeks a researcher to work on decision-making systems in electromagnetic warfare. This is a collaborative project between the Machine Intelligence and Decision Systems (MInDS) group led by Dr Anthony Constantinou, and the Antennas & Electromagnetics group led by Prof Akram Alomainy. The project is funded by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), Electromagnetic Environment (EME) Hub.

About You

Applicants should have a PhD in modelling hypothetical scenarios, with and without data, for structured decision-making under uncertainty. Relevant areas include interpretable probabilistic, causal, Bayesian, and knowledge-based networks.

While expertise in electromagnetics is not essential, applicants must be willing to broaden their knowledge in this area. This may include developing autonomous electromagnetic warfare systems to evaluate the effectiveness under hypothetical electromagnetic defence and offence strategies under uncertainty.
