The University of Sunderland in London (UoSiL), based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days per week with no reduction in pay. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a brand-new academic role with a chance to make a real impact from day one. You’ll be at the heart of shaping our new NMC-accredited pre- and post-registration Nursing programmes from 2026, supported by a brand-new simulation ward and a passionate academic and professional services team.
In this role, you will lead on the academic and operational delivery of a Nursing programme that culminates in NMC registration. You will be responsible for shaping and enhancing the student learning experience through innovative teaching, curriculum development, and research-informed practice. You will manage a dedicated team of lecturers and clinical tutors, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In addition to teaching and programme leadership, you will actively contribute to external engagement.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have substantial experience teaching in higher education, alongside a strong track record of working with NMC-approved programmes. You’ll demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of current trends in nursing education and a commitment to evidence-based teaching and learning. You’ll bring strategic leadership, excellent communication skills, and meticulous planning ability. A passion for supporting learners from diverse backgrounds and fostering an inclusive, engaging learning environment is essential. NMC registration and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area are required for this position.
