In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and International to provide strategic leadership to a diverse team committed to driving business development, knowledge exchange, and innovation. Your efforts will directly contribute to our vision of developing sustainable partnerships that enhance our regional and international impact.

As the Director, you will inspire your team to deliver on the ambitious objectives outlined in the University Strategy. By fostering a culture of performance and engagement, you will ensure our university’s values are at the forefront of all activities. You will create an environment where creativity flourishes, and every team member is empowered to reach their full potential. Your strategic thinking and data-driven insights will guide our engagement with civic, public, commercial, and business partnerships in York, North Yorkshire, and London. You will lead initiatives that align with the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF), maximising our university’s returns and income while enhancing the academic experience for our students.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, and a proven track record in successful business development. You will be a natural collaborator, with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally while envisioning how to leverage partnerships to create innovative learning opportunities and improve graduate outcomes.
