The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We’re looking for a creative and passionate expert to create and manage strategic, high-quality digital content production services for LSHTM, based in the award-winning Communications & Engagement department.
The appointed candidate will have experience and specialised skills to plan, create, commission and maintain digital content across our website, social media channels, e-newsletters and more. This includes video, audio, photography, graphics and other content as needed. They will ensure GDPR and accessibility compliance standards in all digital content, as well as ensuring appropriate tone and branding. We’re looking for someone who will ensure our digital content is impactful and assists our mission to improve health worldwide.
The primary goals are to support student recruitment marketing, institutional profile raising, and research dissemination. The Digital Content Lead will work closely with colleagues in the Communications & Engagement department as well as across our MRC Units in The Gambia and Uganda to provide guidance and advice on digital content. They will line manage a Digital Content Editor that will support the delivery of this content.
The successful candidate will have a higher education to degree level or equivalent, or substantial directly relevant experience. They will have proven experience in leading a high-quality, innovative digital content service and team, and in developing and delivering effective digital content strategies and campaigns. They will be experienced in managing, operating, and maintaining multiple digital content production applications across platforms, and in proactively identifying and implementing new hardware, software, and tools. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritise a complex workload are essential. Experience or a background in public and global health, as well as previous line management experience, is an advantage.
The post is full time 35 hours per week, 1FTE and permanent. The post is available immediately. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,097- £51,156 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
