About the Role
Applicants are invited to apply for an Assistant Teaching Technician position in the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences (SBBS), to provide day-to-day support for the preparation of experiments undertaken in teaching laboratories.
Working under the supervision of the Senior Teaching Technician, the post holder will assist in the set-up and clearing of laboratory practical’s, ensuring that teaching spaces are kept clean in preparation for the next practical. You will keep an inventory of consumables and equipment, making sure that they are maintained at sufficient levels and safely stored and where necessary, reporting faults for repair or replacement.
The post is permanent and full-time during term time only.
Please note that the pro-rata salary will be split equally over 12 months.
About You
You should have academic/vocational qualifications in the relevant biological or biomedical sciences field, OR the equivalent in experience, have customer-facing experience and good MS Office skills with the ability to adapt to new systems. You will have the physical ability to lift and move laboratory equipment and a good understanding of health and safety regulations. A commitment to working flexibly as part of a team and on a rota basis is also essential.
