£25,073 to £28,108 per annum, based on a 36.25-hour contract or pro rata if applicable. Posts are offered at the minimum salary point £13.30 per hour, with progression to the higher salary point, £14.91 per hour, achieved through an annual incremental pay rise.

Your role as Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and customer focused Team Leader to join our Catering Team. You will be responsible for the operation, organisation and supervision of a dining room within a student Halls of Residence.

Main duties for this core position within the catering team will include preparing the dining room and servery area for service, organising Formal Dinners and other events and all aspects of training, motivating and supervising staff including preparing rota's and using the departments time and attendance system. You will also liaise with suppliers and other internal departments and will ensure excellent service is provided to our customers at all times.

Candidates should have supervisory experience gained within a similar environment, proven planning, administration and organisational skills and have experience of stock control.

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 to be arranged to include working regular weekends, between the hours of 11.45am and 8.00pm, for 52 weeks of the year. Flexibility to work a range of shifts will be required. 

Please note that during special events and conference periods, shifts may occasionally start as early as 05.30am, there is also the potential for later shifts, finishing as late as 10.00pm.

The successful candidate for this post will be expected to attend the Estates and Facilities training courses which run Monday to Friday mornings. Further details will be given at interview.
