The successful candidate will work on the five year, EPSRC funded, Advancing Parallel Mesh Generation and Geometry Representation to Enable Industrially Relevant, High-Fidelity Simulations REMODEL Programme Grant (led by the University of Swansea).
The postholder will join a research team of leading academics, research fellows and PhD students conducting engineering design related research and will be involved with the wider REMODEL project team, which will involve leading research into using leading computational design and simulation (FEA and CFD) on the new UK National Supercomputer. The postholder will research novel methods for effectively working with geometry models of large and complex assemblies in HPC environments to support high-fidelity engineering simulations (e.g. FEA and CFD).
This post will be primarily office based, with some opportunities for hybrid working. The post requires undertaking research, under supervision, into state-of-the-art geometry handling methods to support working with geometry models of large and complex engineering assemblies in HPC environments. Direct collaboration with academic partners will be a key aspect of the role, including regular visits to research facilities across the UK.
