We are seeking to appoint a Technical Engineer specialising predominately in Mechanical Engineering to be based at the University of Greenwich’s Medway Campus, who can provide practical support for the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School of Engineering.
We are looking for applicants who are passionate and have high expertise about Engineering. The role’s main responsibilities will be working within the technical team to provide support for teaching and laboratory work, managing machine workshop, demonstrating to students, research and consultancy work within the School of Engineering and part of the Faculty of Engineering and Science. The post holder will be under the direction of the Senior Technical Engineer Team Leader within the Faculty.
The postholder will have responsibility for health and safety in the workshop liaising closely with the Engineering Health and Safety Manager to ensure co-ordination of new policies. Have the experience of manufacture or provision of manufacturing support for the development of artifacts associated with student projects, laboratory activities, and research projects.
In a student facing role the postholder will advise and guide students in the development of practical aspects of their projects and will supervise student practical work including on field trips.
Other duties to support the broader remit of the technical team will include other Engineering disciplines Civil & Chemical along with outreach and open days promotional activities.
