About the role:
The Thwaites lab at the National Heart and Lung Institute studies the immune system within the airway, with this role contributing to our understanding of the mucosal antibody response to infection and vaccination. These antibodies are ideally situated to prevent respiratory viral infections, but our ability to study their functions in humans has only recently been developed.
What you would be doing:
You will work with multidisciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical researchers across controlled human infection model and vaccine immunogenicity studies. You will be responsible for analysing samples collected from human volunteers to understand the scale and function of antibody responses in the blood and airway. You will work with senior team members and the PI to report these data within each project consortium and externally through presentations and publications.
What we are looking for:
An enthusiastic early career researcher, at MSc level or above, with experience in immunology or related disciplines.
