The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant leadership impact within their academic unit and individual and collaborative research in the area of Power Electronic, Machine and Control.The role holder will be expected to conduct and lead high-caliber, impactful research at the forefront of Power Electronic, Machine and Control, while demonstrating exceptional research leadership within their academic unit and the broader scholarly community. 

The person appointed will also be expected tospearhead the development and execution of long-term research strategies aligned with the Universitys objectives, securing substantial external funding to sustain large-scale, interdisciplinary projects. The role holder will actively shape the intellectual agenda of their specialist area, driving initiatives that expand the boundaries of knowledge, influence public policy or industry practices, and enhance the Universitys international reputation as a hub for cutting-edge research. 

Candidates must have a PhD degree in Power Electronics, Machines, and Drives or a closely related field, with a proven track record in leading high-impact interdisciplinary research, securing major grants and delivering transformative results. Strongresearch and leadership skills and outstandingcommunication skills, with the ability toarticulate technical concepts to diverse audiences, and a commitment to mentoring early-career researchers and fostering an inclusive research environment are also essential. 

Salary will be within the range of 635,038 RMB to 780,622 RMB per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling and insurance will be provided for international appointments. 

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of 3 years starting January 2026 or as soon as thereafter.
