An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of History and Art History to undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Teaching is a key part of this role and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of the Modern History module ‘Propaganda’.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile which compliments existing research strengths, seeking national and international recognition.
A PhD (or equivalent) in Modern History with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment is essential.
You will have a track record, appropriate to experience, of high-quality publications and have produced research which has the potential to have an impact beyond academia. Experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects and evidence of successful applications for external grant income would be advantageous.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post requires a regular on-campus presence during term time in line with the teaching requirements and needs of the School and is available from 1st December 2025 on a fixed-term basis until 31st August 2026. The teaching duties will be clustered in the spring semester starting on 26th January 2026.
