Departmental Lecturer in Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences)
Oxford Lifelong Learning (Oxford University Department for Continuing Education) is seeking to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences)
About the role
The Natural Sciences portfolio at Oxford Lifelong Learning (Department for Continuing Education) is within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) academic domain, and comprises open access Weekly Classes and Short Online Courses, Day & Weekend events, lecture series and summer schools. It also includes Continuing Professional Development courses in advanced technologies taught by leading industry and academic specialists, and Award-Bearing courses.
The postholder will have academic responsibility for the Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences) provision in the Weekly Class and Short Online Course programmes. They will also have academic oversight of the Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences) provision in the Day & Weekend events, lecture series and summer schools, and CPD portfolio. In addition, they will work with colleagues on ensuring the successful delivery of the Data Science (Computing and Mathematics) open access programmes.
They will have a specialism in an aspect of Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics and teach on courses relevant to their subject-area expertise. They will be part of the academic community of the Department and engage in advanced scholarship.
This is a 0.6 FTE position, available on a permanent contract.
