Annual Leave: 30 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Main duties and responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Bid Coordinator to join Research and Enterprise Services. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the identification, drafting and submission of strategic bids in order to generate income through the University’s knowledge exchange activities and business support. Bids are anticipated to include funding opportunities from external stakeholders such as Innovate UK, Research England, UK Research & Innovation as well as regional, national and internal funds. The post holder will be responsible for securing new contracts linked to contract research, collaborative research, consultancy and public tenders. The role will have income targets aligned to the Objectives and Key Performance Indicators for the Innovation team.

Skills and experience required

You will have proven experience of operating in a business development environment within the higher education or commercial sector and will have the ability to develop high quality text relevant to funding proposals. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a professional approach. You will be comfortable with collecting, processing and presenting complex data and working both collaboratively and independently when required. You will have knowledge of and interest in knowledge exchange and innovation. You will have strong client focus with a commitment to providing a high quality, professional service and will be highly self-motivated. Importantly, you will be comfortable working to deadlines with excellent time management and organisational skills.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a degree or equivalent or have proven professional experience in a professional and/or administrative work environment.
