The role

The Undergraduate Recruitment Team within Student Journey are looking for an Assistant Undergraduate Recruitment Officer with events organisation experience. The team are responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of undergraduate recruitment activity for the University of Bristol for home-domiciled students. Working closely with academic schools and faculties, we design and deliver interventions to ensure the University meets home undergraduate intake targets and recruits a diverse student learning community. Our portfolio includes virtual activity and a range of events on and off campus including University Open Days, Offer Holder Events, campus tours, higher education conventions and school and college events.

What will you be doing?

Under the direction and lead of the Undergraduate Recruitment Officers, this post will act as the day-to-day lead on key elements in the planning and delivery of student recruitment events. The post holder is responsible for supporting the organisation, delivery and administration for a range of University events and recruitment activities. The role requires strong organisational skills, problem solving and effective communication with a range of internal stakeholders and external organisations. The post holder will manage delegated work with autonomy and take decisions for their areas of responsibility.

  • You anticipate problems, work well under pressure and can find solutions.
  • You have excellent time management skills and will be able to manage a complex workload within part time hours.
  • You are able to work independently and are confident using your initiative.
  • You are an effective communicator able to engage with a range of different audiences and build strong relationships in the process.
  • You have experience managing a small team and working collaboratively with others to achieve goals.

Additional information

Work pattern: Part-time 14 hours per week (job share)
