The Department of Management holds a central position within LSE, a globally recognized university specializing in the social sciences, located in the heart of London. The department's faculty and research expertise are focused on various areas, including information systems and innovation, employment relations and human resource management, organisational behaviour, managerial economics and strategy, and marketing.
Faculty members actively engage in research and scholarly activities across LSE, collaborating with other faculty groups, including the newly formed Governance, Environment, and Technology (GET) faculty group, as well as various interdisciplinary institutes such as the Data Science Institute and the Behavioural Lab for Research and Teaching. The Department’s degree portfolio includes a BSc in Management, a Master’s in Management, specialist Master’s programmes, such as the MSc in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation (MISDI), and PhD in Management.
In recruiting for this position, the LSE aims to establish the ISI group as a global leader in digital innovation research and education, building on the group’s distinctive socio-technical approach.
Successful applicants will have a PhD or be close to completing a PhD by the post start date, in a social science discipline and/or an interdisciplinary field relevant to Management (Information Systems and Innovation). A track record of world-leading publications in top-tier scholarly journals, such as MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research, or a trajectory for achieving this with a strong research agenda is essential. We especially welcome scholars who integrate computational social science approaches with traditional qualitative or quantitative approaches. Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is desirable.
