King’s College London is one of the world’s leading universities, ranked 31st globally in the QS World University Rankings. Founded in 1829, it is now home to more than 35,000 students from over 150 countries. The Department of Mathematics is one of five departments within the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences and is based at the University’s Strand Campus in central London.
The Department combines excellence in research and education across a wide range of areas, from pure and applied mathematics to theoretical physics. We are committed to advancing mathematical knowledge and to providing an outstanding education that develops rigour, creativity, and real-world relevance.
Academic Education Pathway (AEP) lecturers play a central role in our teaching mission. They create a dynamic and supportive learning environment, combining academic rigour with innovative methods that make mathematics accessible and inspiring. Their focus on high-quality teaching, inclusive practice, and student support helps foster a thriving academic community.
The Department has recently secured a grant from the Campaign for Mathematical Sciences to launch a new undergraduate degree, Mathematics for Quantitative Problem Solving, which will train innovative problem-solvers able to apply mathematics to a wide range of real-world challenges. The new AEP Lecturer will play a key role in shaping and delivering this programme.
