Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interactive research group led by Professor Anne Ferguson-Smith in the Department of Genetics. The Research Associate will conduct an independent postdoctoral research project while also working collaboratively with members of the research team and others, taking bioinformatic and experimental approaches to study the genetics of epigenetic variation at mammalian retrotransposons, epigenetic inheritance and the epigenetic control of genome function.

A PhD in a biological science is required as well as experience in epigenetics, mammalian genomics or developmental genetics. The successful applicant must have previous bioinformatics experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of transcriptome and other sequence analysis, and have the ability to develop and implement novel state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools for multi-omics analysis. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and with others outside of the primary research group.

Fixed-term: Funding for this post is available until 1st December 2026 in the first instance.
