About the Role
The Assistant Director, Enterprise Systems and Technology Enhanced Learning is a senior leadership role within IT Services. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the strategic development, integration, and support of Queen Mary’s enterprise applications and digital learning technologies.
This role ensures that technology effectively supports the University’s teaching, research, and professional services in line with Queen Mary’s 2030 Strategy. You will provide direction for the Enterprise Systems and Technology Enhanced Learning teams, ensuring services are efficient, and customer-focused.
You will lead cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. The role drives technology-enabled change, champions innovation in digital learning, and ensures delivery of reliable and scalable solutions across the University. As part of the IT Services Leadership Team, you will contribute to strategic planning and the ongoing development of the department.
About You
You will be an experienced IT leader with a strong record in delivering large-scale enterprise systems and digital learning solutions within a complex organisation. You will combine strategic vision with operational excellence, aligning technology delivery with institutional priorities.
Educated to Master’s level (or equivalent experience), you will ideally hold professional qualifications such as ITIL or project management certification. You will have experience leading technical teams and managing suppliers, with a focus on delivering value for money and continuous improvement.
An effective communicator and collaborator, you will engage senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and foster a culture of accountability and partnership. Combining technical expertise with sound business acumen, you will make informed, evidence-based decisions and lead change successfully.
